The I Love Stock Island Festival is a city-wide event Thanksgiving weekend, November 25-27, 2016 celebrating the heritage and history of Stock Island. Not limited to any one specific venue or happening, guests are invited to experience three full days of free & ticketed events showcasing Stock Island’s culinary, entertainment, artistic, cultural & historic gems.
Friday, December 8, 2017Food Truck Finds (times vary)Get to know Stock Island's amazing food trucks many offering $5 sample plates and various specials. Try one or all 5 from DeLuna's Bar & Grill, Taco Grilla, Hoss & Mary's, Yahman's Authentic Jamaican Jerk Shack, Taco ExpressTaste of Stock Island – 4 pm – 7 pmGet your ticket to the very best food and beverage that Stock Island has to offer. Guests will board a trolley for the short ride to Stock Island. Then we’ll take you to all our favorite eateries and hangouts for specially chosen small plates and beverage pairings presenting the very best on the island. Each trolley is limited to 35 guests plus your knowledgeable tour guides so you'll have a great time with new and old friends. At each location, the chef or owner (or maybe both) will welcome your group and tell you a little about the dish and the accompanying wine, beer or spirit. Guests receive a souvenir I Love Stock Island glass. You’ll have time to look around, absorb the atmosphere and we’ll board for the next stop.1st Annual Stock Island Lighted Boat Parade (free event) – Activities @ 6 pm; parade @ 7 pmHeld the day before the popular Schooner Warf lighted boat parade, the Stock Island event will allow vessels of all shapes and sizes the opportunity to double the fun with an extra night of showmanship. Guests will delight seeing the bright lights on everything from tri-masted schooners to dinghies to the Shrimp boats that call Stock Island home. Free viewing parties will be in three major marinas. This is sure to become a can’t miss holiday tradition.Saturday, December 9, 2017Discover Stock Island (free event) - 11 am – 4 pmBusinesses, restaurants, galleries and attractions will host open houses with specials all day long. Visitors will pick up a Stock Island pirate map with the participating locations marked and will tour Stock Island at their leisure via trolleys. Pick a track specially prepared for art lovers, history buffs, families, or foodies. Guests may ‘find treasure’ along the way for a chance to win some great prizes like hotel stays, restaurant dollars & watersport certificates.ShrimpFest @ Bernstein Park (Free event) 11 am – 9 pmJoin the entire Stock Island Community at the new Bernstein Park for a delicious celebration for all the senses. Bring your appetite for our Low Country Shrimp Boil featuring fresh platters key west pink shrimp, smoked sausage, corn on the cob, new potatoes and cornbread. Wear your dancing shoes for great live island music featuring some very special guests. There will be beer and local rum punch along with lots of kid’s activities. Native vendors will be offering their handcrafted wares (perfect for your holiday shopping) and many Stock Island businesses will be showcased. First annual Stock Island Maritime Olympics, Little Mr. and Miss Stock Island contest and a tree lighting ceremony highlight the event.Sunday, December 10, 2017Stock Rock & Roll Bike Ride (Free event) 10 am – 1 pmBring your bike or rent one from We-cycle to experience this one-of-a-kind ride around Stock Island. You can visit as many Stock Island Bars/Restaurants as you like and at your own pace. Many will offer special brunch menu items & pricing and live music. Other attractions will be open, as well. Short, 45 minute guided history tours offered will be offered at 10 and 11 am departing from We Cycle.Stock Island Artist Studio OpenHouse (Free event) 11 am – 4 pm Pick up a map or use your phone to bike (or drive) to visit our many talented and eclectic artists that make Stock Island their home. Holiday Brunch (times vary)Pick your favorite Stock Island restaurant and join them for a special brunch. Hurricane Hole, Chico's Cantina, Roostica, Ocean's Edge, Rusty Anchor, Matt's Stock Island Kitchen & Bar, Croissants de France and Key West Harbor Yacht Club will all have scrumptious food selections (as always) making this side of the island the place to dine.
